Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) adds an additional layer of security to your Devici account by requiring a second verification factor during sign-in.

By using MFA, access to Devici requires something you know (your password) and something you have (a time-based authentication code).

Overview

MFA helps protect your account from unauthorized access, even if credentials are compromised.

Devici uses time-based one-time passcodes (TOTP) generated by an authenticator application.

Setting Up MFA

To enable MFA on your account:

  1. Sign in to Devici and navigate to your Profile settings.
  2. Begin the MFA setup process.
  3. Scan the displayed QR code using an authenticator app on your device.

Common authenticator apps include Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, and similar tools.

  1. Enter the first code generated by the authenticator app into the verification field.
  2. Wait for the authenticator app to generate a second code.
  3. Enter the second code to complete verification.

Entering two consecutive codes confirms the authenticator is properly linked to your Devici account.

Reconnecting an MFA App

You may need to reconnect MFA if you:

  • Change mobile devices
  • Reinstall or change authenticator apps

To reconnect MFA:

  1. Open the Profile menu from the bottom-left corner of the screen.
  2. Scroll to the MFA section at the bottom of the profile page.
  3. Select Reconnect MFA.
  4. Follow the prompts to rescan the QR code and verify with new authentication codes.

Remembering MFA for 30 Days

During sign-in, you can choose to remember MFA authentication for a limited time.

To do this:

  • Select the option to save MFA authentication for 30 days at sign-in.

When enabled, Devici will not prompt for MFA on that device for 30 days, unless you sign out or your session expires.

Best Practices

  • Enable MFA on all administrative and privileged accounts
  • Keep your authenticator app backed up or accessible
  • Reconnect MFA immediately after changing devices
  • Avoid enabling “remember MFA” on shared or public devices

MFA is a critical component of securing access to your Devici environment.
